Hello my name is Angela. I have lived in Tacoma for almost 30 years. Tacoma is a wonderful town. We are a small enough city to navigate but big enough for art and culture. Tacoma is located next to Commencement Bay and is approximately 30 miles south of Seattle. We have the largest historical district in the state in North Tacoma full of great vintage homes and vibrant communities. My husband and I have renovated 3 different properties for dedicated short term rentals We do not live in these properties but have renovated them to be beautiful, comfortable and travelor friendly. All of our rentals are in the North Tacoma/6th Avenue area. The are called: Commencement View Cottage, the Aphrodite Apartment and the Venus Apartment.
Commencement View Cottage is a charming cottage that has the best location and view in Tacoma. It is located in Old Town and is a short 7 minute walk down to Ruston Way. Ruston Way is located on Commencement Bay which is home to some of the best seafood restaurants and plently of walking trails as well as the newly developed Point Ruston. We are a short drive to Proctor, UPS, downtown Tacoma and Point Defiance Park. Enjoy the views from both decks and see why we are consistantly rated 5 stars by VRBO and Airbnb travelers. We are pet friendly to well behaved dogs. In addition we rent long term October through April depending on availability.
The 6th Avenue Goddess is a fully licensed Art Nouveau house located in the fun and funky 6th Ave district within walking distance to 32 different restaurants and bars. We are in the heart of 6th Avenue. Enjoy being close to everything: people watching, walking and going to great shops and restaurants. We are a short bus ride to downtown Tacoma, UPS, Proctor, and minutes from the waterfront and Point Defiance Park. There are two apartments: The Aphrodite Apartment (1300 square ft) on the main floor and the Venus Apartment (1000 square ft) on the top floor. Both share a common entrance in the back of the house. We provide one parking spot for your vehicle. Guests love the close proximity to everything and the quality vintage furnishings throughout. If you are going to stay in a short term rental why not stay in style. The Goddess is new but is getting close to a 5 star rating for both units. We rent long term from October through April based on availability and our Venus apartment is pet friendly to well behaved dogs.
The 6th Avenue Aphrodite Apartment is unique because it is in the heart of 6th Avenue in Tacoma. You are steps away from the best shopping, restaurants and nightlife in Tacoma. We are right inside the 6th Avenue business district.
The apartment is approximately 1300 square feet and has a very nice layout with a beautiful fireplace in a reading nook, formal living and dining room, kitchen and 2 nice sized bedrooms. The bedrooms are located in the middle and the back of the house away from 6th avenue.
The goddess was originally built in 1920. It has been completely renovated top to bottom. This goddess of love is gorgeous on the inside too. She has original dental and flower molding from 1920 as well as original oak and fir floors and french doors separating the living from dining room.
There are antique sconces above the fireplace and vintage chandeliers in the formal living and dining room. The amount of detail and craftsmanship is breathtaking and it is furnished with quality antique furniture and furnishings. There is no Ikea furniture here.
This house has been completely remodeled for exclusive use as an airbnb. I do not live here. We love the original woodwork and windows and hardware have been restored. We have completely renovated the kitchen and bath with custom cabinets and beautiful tile. The space is light, bright, elegant, and functional. The 6th Avenue Venus Apartment is on the top floor in a house built in 1920 located on 6th Avenue in Tacoma, Washington. It is approximately 1000 square feet with one bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom.
It is close to great restaurants, shops and bars. UPS and Tacoma General and downtown are 1/2 mile away. We are an easy bus ride and are directly on the bus line.
The apartment is on the top floor of the house. The main floor apartment and the Venus apartment share a back entrance but are completely private and separate from each other. To get to the apartment you must climb 1 flight of stairs so it may not be suitable for elderly or small children. It comes with one parking spot at the back of the house.
This apartment was built in 1920 and has tall ceilings, original molding, cute closets and fir and oak hardwood floors. The Venus apartment has one bedroom with a full size bed and another bedroom with a full size bed, a futon and a couch. The second bedroom is quite large and it has a television. It has been completely renovated while keeping the original charm and personality of the era. I have replaced windows in both sleeping rooms with noise blocking windows making them pretty quiet. All furniture and furnishings are vintage and of high quality and the mattresses are brand new.
